USI is the acronym for Unique Student Identifier. It is a reference number that creates an online record of your training and qualifications attained in Australia. If you don’t have a USI, then you can’t be awarded your qualification or statement of attainment.
Every student must have a verified USI without which qualification will not be issued.
Under the Unique Student Identifiers Act 2014, all RTOs must ensure they have a valid USI for any student that enrols in Nationally Recognised Training from 2015. This means (unless you have an exemption issued by the USI registrar) that as a student you must provide us with your USI. For information about USIs including how to create one visit https://www.usi.gov.au/.
For information on exemptions visit: https://www.usi.gov.au/about/privacy-and-unique-student-identifier/individual-exemptions-students
The RTO will provide access to required learning and assessment resources including access to free internet during classroom hours, however, to work on the assignments and tasks for self-study, all learners must bring their own laptop with the Windows 7 operating system or higher.
Students must have an active email address for communication and be contactable by phone (mobile or landline) and by mail (postal address).
All students are expected to have access to MS office or similar application and an email platform. Refer to resource requirements below for further details.
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is an assessment process that assess the competency of an individual, acquired through formal, non-formal and informal learning, to determine the extent to which the applicant meets the requirements specified in the training product.
Credit towards a student’s course can be provided by credit transfer (CT). This means that students do not have to repeat a unit (or equivalent) already achieved.
Queensland Institute of Education and Training will review all AQF certification and authenticate it as part of the process of awarding credit.
Applicants who wish to apply for RPL will be provided with a Candidate Kit. The RPL process will be followed as per the Training and Assessment Policy and Associated Procedures.
Applicants will be advised in writing of the outcome of their application for credit transfer and/or RPL. Where the credit provided results in a reduction of the duration of the course and fees, this will also be advising in writing.
Contact the RTO Manager in case you wish to apply for an RPL or Credit Transfer.
